The Crawfordsville District Public Library invites all ages to come join us for our winter reading program. The program begins Tuesday, December 27 and runs through Tuesday, January 31.

Children (up to the age of 11) will earn pieces to create a Winter Wonderland picture by reading. There will be four sheets of instructions. When the first sheet of instructions is completed the child will earn 11 pieces to start the Winter Wonderland picture and a snowy prize from the treasure chest. When the second sheet of instructions is completed the child will earn 11 more pieces to the picture (including a cardinal). The child will earn a polar bear prize and be able to scoop some birdseed in a baggie to take home to the birds in his/her yard. When the 3rd sheet of reading and the 4th sheet of drawing a picture are completed the child will earn the rest of the pieces to the Winter Wonderland picture and a book to keep.

Tweens & teens (ages 11-19) will keep track of time read by coloring a stack of books on a chart. When all the books in the first stack have been colored the tween/teen will earn a prize. When the second stack of books has been colored the tween/teen may choose a book to keep. For every hour read up to 20 a ticket may be entered into a grand prize drawing for a $10.00 gift card to an establishment in town.

Adults (ages 18+) may complete the program online or using a paper format. To register online go to https://cdpl.beanstack.com to create an account, or sign in if you already have one. You can also register by picking up our winter reading bingo and instructions at the Reference desk on the second floor. This year’s theme is “Wisdom comes with winters” (Oscar Wilde), and pre-registration is available starting on December 22 (adult program only).

To participate, adults need to complete the activities listed on our bingo card. By completing any single line (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) you receive a book and a button to keep. Complete the entire card and your name will be entered into a drawing to win one of our three grand prizes. All participants must submit completed activities by January 31 in order to qualify for prizes and prize drawings.
