This week’s graphic novel to note is basically The Goonies meets complicated time travel and female friendships! Do we have your attention? Brian K. Vaughn’s Paper Girls is one of the most impressive graphic novel series released in the last decade, and definitely should be added to the TBR for anyone who’s a fan of stunning colorwork in their comics. We’ve included a few select panels below so that you can see some examples! Also, if you end up loving the series, you can look forward to a TV adaptation premiering on Amazon Prime later this year.

Paper Girls follows the story of four 12-year-old newspaper delivery girls set in Stony Stream, a fictional suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. While out delivering papers on the morning after Halloween, the town is struck by an invasion from a mysterious force from the future. The girls become unwillingly caught up in the conflict between two warring factions of time travelers.
